Continuing land development of our nations forests and farms coupled
with a lack of natural predation have allowed whitetail deer populations
to grow beyond the capacity of wildlife habitats to meet their basic
nutritional requirements.
Many suburban centers are being overrun with deer, and the number of
deer-human conflicts are increasing, such as the prevalence of deer tick
borne diseases (i.e. Lyme disease), the incidence of motor vehicle
accidents and landscape destruction.
North East Deer Management (NEDM) offers solutions to the suburban
invasion of the whitetail deer, serving New London, Windham, Middlesex and New Haven Counties in Connecticut.
We are committed to protecting wildlife habitats on both private and
state lands from destruction by deer over-population. We strive to educate
residents about the importance of actively managing deer herd sizes to
maintain a healthy balance of this valuable and replenishable resource.
We work with public officials to increase awareness and prevent the
spread of tick borne diseases.
